Osceola looks out over Truman
Lake from the western edge of the forested Ozark Highlands and from the eastern
edge of the prairies and plains that continue to the Rocky Mountains.
Come to Osceola to find
the best in recreation, business, a place to live or all three together. Osceola
is the county seat of St. Clair County, served by Sac-Osage Hospital, St. Clair County Library, St. Clair
County Courthouse, Osceola Public
Schools and a municipal government that provides a public utility system.
Osceola's history is
tumultuous and wildly unusual. The buildings on the square boast 1880's
architecture and are still in use. These buildings mark the rebuilding of the
town after Osceola was burned to the ground in the Civil War.
With a population under
one thousand, Osceola provides small town atmosphere and central location to
many of Missouri's attractions. Now that you are visiting Osceola, Missouri
